Guidelines for Home Hosts
Clients expect a high standard of presentation in participating properties. Your house must be clean and tidy and all appliances used by the clients must be in good working order.
To maintain the quality and uniformity of our home hosting scheme, you are asked to observe the following conditions and administrative arrangements.
- Home and grounds should be very clean and tidy for the arrival of guests.
- Hosts must also provide:
- high degree of cleanliness and order;
- sufficient wardrobe and drawer space for guests;
- suitably furnished accommodation with good quality floor and window coverings;
- sufficient high quality bedding, blankets, doonas etc. consistent with prevailing weather conditions;
- good quality fresh bed linen, hand and bath towels and supplies for a change every three days;
- Breakfast, including juice, tea/coffee, cereal, toast, spreads, cooked eggs, bacon or suitable alternative,
- suitable cutlery and crockery;
- adequate toilet paper, soap and washing detergent for guests' use.
- All homes will be inspected by staff of Barrier Reef Dive Cruise and Travel to determine suitability. Inspecting staff might ask to see linen, towels and crockery to determine suitability.
- It is the responsibility of all participating home owners to contact their insurance company to ensure that they have adequate and appropriate insurance covering property, home and contents and legal liability and that their participation in the home hire program does not invalidate their policy.
- Homes will be let on a daily basis, and applications will be on strict preference in order of receipt of applications, unless the guests stipulate certain accommodation. If a host decides to reject a booking then that property will be placed at the bottom of the list for allocation.
- The guests final payment is due on 26 May 2011. Upon receipt of this payment Barrier Reef Dive Cruise and Travel will send written confirmation of any booking/s made. However, there is no guarantee that all registered homes will be used.
- Telephone charges are not included in the rental fee. Arrangements for use of the telephone are to be made between the host and guests.
- If hosts live in rented property written approval must be obtained from the owner and a copy of the approval must accompany the application form.
- As a host you will receive $73.00 per person per night after 19% commission has been deducted
- A 3 night minimum applies. If a booking is made for 2 nights hosts will be paid for 3.
- Payment to home owners will be made by cheque or direct deposit. If your choice is not indicated on your invoice, payment will be made by cheque.
- Barrier Reef Dive Cruise and Travel will not be responsible for direct deposits being made to an incorrect account if the banking details are not correct or are illegible.
- Payments to home owners should be finalised within 4 weeks of hire taking place, but no payments can be made until all home owners have returned outstanding invoices to Barrier Reef Dive Cruise and Travel.
- Barrier Reef Dive Cruise and Travel operates as a booking agent only and is in no way liable for the actions of guests or hosts in respect of bookings made through this program.
- Should a tenant cancel the booking prior to the full payment deadline of May 26 2011, the deposit of 25% less an administration fee will be paid to the homeowner.
